Tiny fire basket/dog grate, 1/24th scale

Fire baskets, also known as dog grates, were an evolution from the the simple andirons once used to raise logs off the floor and stop them rolling into the room. Grates like this added the function of storing and reflecting heat back into the room with their cast iron backs. They first appeared in the 15th century and could be found - in versions styled to fit the current fashion - in houses ever since. 

Help your half inch scale house stay cosy this winter with this adorable tiny fireplace fixture. It was digitally sculpted by me, and 3d printed at home using a high detail photocure resin.
